Shockwave therapy in Bargoed
Shockwave therapy is the application of high intensity shock waves used to treat tendon and soft tissue injuries.
What is *shockwave therapy*?
Shockwave therapy is the application of high intensity shock waves used to treat tendon and soft tissue injuries. It is a non-invasive therapy used for complaints such as achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, shoulder pain and hip bursitis.
Most patients require 3-6 treatments. Some patients get immediate relief, others may take a few weeks. Shockwave works best for chronic injuries, injuries over 6 months old where healing has slowed down.
The hand held applicator has a small ballistic projectile that shoots back and forth inside its cavity, creating an energy output that is converted into a shock wave and delivered through the skin.
